Why Is Writing Such a Big Part of MindDay?

How Writing Can Support Your Mental Health

Where Does MindDay Ask Me to Write?

In MindDay, you’ll be invited to write down your thoughts and intentions in several places:

  • in your daily emotion check-in, to give context to what’s affecting you
  • in journals, which you can include in your Programs
  • and during sessions, where written exercises are always part of the process ✍️

Why Is Writing So Important?

Psychology research shows that writing is a powerful way to work on yourself, because:

  • 🤯 Before you write, you have to stop and think. You need to sort things out. So writing brings clarity to your mind.
  • 🌟 When you write, you get things out of your head. You create distance from your thoughts. You step back—and that’s a key part of making progress.
  • 🥳 Writing also gives you a chance to reword, reshape, correct, and improve. And when you improve what you write, you improve the way you think.
    • That’s what we call cognitive restructuring—it teaches your brain a new way to see things.

That’s why writing is such a big part of the process here.

It might feel a bit unnatural at first—but you’ll be surprised how quickly it starts to help. 😉
