MindDay’s method is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT.
But what exactly is CBT?
CBT was developed in the U.S. in the 1950s. The idea behind it is simple: it’s not so much what happens to us that causes distress, but how we see those events and what we believe about them. The goal of CBT is to help us change the way we look at difficult situations, so they affect us less—and we feel better. 🧘
How does CBT work?
Studies in psychology and neuroscience over the last 60 years have shown that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. CBT helps us shift how we think (that’s the cognitive part) and how we act (that’s the behavioral part), to improve our well-being day by day. ♼
CBT also relies on a powerful idea called neuroplasticity—our brain’s ability to change and grow throughout life. This means we can learn new ways of thinking, at any age.
That’s great news: it means nothing about us is set in stone. We’re not stuck with certain traits or patterns forever. 👍
If you feel like you're not naturally optimistic, CBT can help train your brain to look at things differently. If you're someone who worries a lot, you can learn to calm your mind and see the world in a more balanced way.
CBT is the most widely studied and proven form of therapy, backed by decades of research. Outside of France—where psychoanalysis still plays a big role—it’s the most commonly used therapy in the world. 🌍
